Academy Sports reported earnings this week and had a heathy revenue increase over last year. They noted that they're continuing to take share in outdoor cooking, a trend that's been happening for at least a couple years at this point.
They're also seeing higher traffic from wealthier consumers. There's a dynamic playing out where they're losing traffic from their lowest quintile by income, but more
than making up for it with the higher income brackets.
Grilla Grills' parent company, American Outdoor Brands, also reported earnings this week. Their sales were hit pretty hard on the quarter, but they said that Grilla performed well relative to other outdoor brands in their portfolio. With the headwinds they're feeling, they likened the market to 2023.
Finally, just in time for football, recteq has released the Road Warrior 340P Rivalry Edition. It's a
collapsible pellet grill designed for tailgating. It comes in a variety of lid colors to match your favorite team.
