There's a new study that was published this week that theorizes that early humans used fire for smoking meat to preserve it. That would put the earliest barbecue at around 1.8 million to 800,000 years ago. Rather than beef though
they were serving up elephants, rhinos, and hippos.

Finally, the Weber Summit smart gas grill that was released last year was a leader in digital
control of a gas grill. It can be controlled with an onboard touchscreen or the Weber app on your phone. It’s fitting that they have just earned a 2025 Red Dot award for design.
