It’s been a long time coming, but we put up a review of a 36” Blackstone griddle this week. It’s gotten almost two years of use, and it’s lived up to the hype. I’d recommend it for anyone that’s considered getting one.
There’s been lots of wireless temperature probes released this year. Adding to that trend, ThermoPro released a new one that has a neat charging block design. You can stack the
charger base of the probes with the included display. It also has specs similar to all the other competitors released this year.
Lillie’s Q BBQ sauce and rubs has a new owner. They sold to OWS Foods, which is a private equity backed manufacturer of spices and rubs. OWS does white labeling, and also owns the brand Head Country.
Finally, Academy Sports is continuing their growth plans with 20 - 25 store openings planned for 2025. They have a unique business
that doesn’t have many direct comparables. Instead, they comp categories against different retailers. Grills, for instance, they comp against big box hardware. As part of that discussion, they broke down how they evaluate market share.
