Pitts & Spitts released their awaited griddle this week, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s 345 pounds of stainless steel, with a stainless steel griddle top. There were some nice surprises with the release too. It comes with laser cut cooking grates, so you can use it as a gas grill. It also has semi-pneumatic wheels, which will make moving all that heft around much easier.

Breeo is hosting their 2^nd annual Field to Fire event on Oct. 5th in the town where they manufacture their fire pits, Lancaster, PA. The free event will have live fire cooking demos, entertainment, giveaways, and the opportunity to see and purchase their products. They also will be holding an SCA Steak Cookoff there where the competitors will cook on their new Live-Fire Grill.

TIKI Brand released their Chiminea Outdoor Fireplace to add to their growing product line-up. Like I’ve come to expect from TIKI, it has some great design elements to it. The most notable being that in addition to running off firewood, it has a pellet hopper on the back for a 2-hour full flame fire. You can also use TIKI’s Wood Packs for a shorter fire.

The MNC Capital and Vista Outdoor drama was back on this week. MNC Capital sent Vista (Camp Chef’s parent company) a revised takeover offer last weekend with a Monday deadline, then proceeded to put out a press release about it and air their complaints about Vista.

Fast forward to Friday when Vista Outdoor announced a new offer from CSG that includes a 7.5% purchase of Revelyst for $150 million, which would imply a $2 billion valuation. It was also revealed that Vista's second largest shareholder who has been outspoken in support of the MNC deal would be an equity holder at MNC, which is a conflict of interest.

Finally, Academy Sports reported earnings and is still seeing newness be successful. They also are seeing their recent partnership with DoorDash be accretive to sales. They think this partnership will especially pay dividends during the holiday season.
