Ooni cut 75 jobs globally from their workforce this week. There were some warning signs in their most recent financials because they had staffed-up, but their revenue was flat.

It’s unfortunate news, and it begs the question, have we reached market saturation for pizza ovens? There have been a tremendous amount of new pizza ovens and pizza oven companies enter the market over the past two years. Supply may have overcompensated for the increase in demand.

Napoleon released a new line of charcoal kettle grills. They’re called the Pro Series, and they have some nice features like a hinged lid and an expansion ring that holds a rotisserie. For Napoleon, they’re also pretty competitively priced. The 22” model with a cart is priced the same as a Weber 22” Performer Premium.

With all of the pull-ahead in grill purchases through the Pandemic, and a stretched consumer, we may see an uptick in grill repairs in the near future. It’s a trend that Steve Ray, owner of Owl’s Nest BBQ near Chattanooga, TN has noticed.

If it does happen, Pit Boss and Louisiana Grills parent, Dansons, has some new technology to help. They’ve partnered with Blitzz to offer an app-less video support solution to help make the troubleshooting and repair process easier.

Camp Chef’s parent company, Vista Outdoor, responded this week to the unsolicited acquisition bid from MNC Capital. Vista wants more money from MNC Capital, so their Board has authorized them to provide certain non-public information to support a higher bid.

In other news out of Vista Outdoor, their Outdoor Products division, Revelyst, announced a new Chief Supply Chain Officer. It’s an important role for the organization because they identified optimizing their supply chain as a key component of their $125 million cost saving strategy.

Finally, Grilla Grills released a new modular outdoor kitchen configuration. It includes four pieces and features their Primate gas grill. It also has a sink with a faucet and a fridge.
