For just the third time in its impressive 50-year history, there’s a new CEO at Big Green Egg. Dan Gertsacov has assumed the role, an internal promotion from his title of President. Having spent a good amount of time with Dan, it's easy to see why he'll be great in the role. He brings lots of experience and a passion for the brand. I’m excited to see Big Green Egg continue to grow under his leadership.

The largest rural lifestyle retailer, Tractor Supply, has been working on growing their grill offerings. They took a big step forward this week when they announced that they’re going to start selling Weber grills online and in-store. They will have Weber grills in 500 locations starting on the 15th, with the possibility of more depending on the success of the roll-out.

Pit Boss has updated their popular Sportsman pellet grill line, including the vertical smoker. They took a good line of grills and made them better by adding a WiFi and Bluetooth enabled controller. It’s an inexpensive upgrade, with the connected version of the Sportsman 820 only costing $50 more.

Made popular with their Weber kettle add-ons, Spider Grills is releasing a new grill of their own. Called the Hunstman, it’s billed as being part Kamado, part kettle. It features 5mm thick steel, a counter-weighted and hinged lid, and a WiFi enabled controller to control the temperature of the grill.

Fans of Leinenkugel’s and Johnsonville brats are in for a treat this summer. The heads of both companies met a Packers tailgate last fall and decided to do a collaboration. They’re rolling-out Summer Shandy Brats, which will be available in select states through July.

Once advertised as the world’s largest BBQ store, Turn Up the Heat in Vaughan, Ontario closed their doors. All of their inventory and warehouse equipment is being auctioned off online. They have lots of Broil King, Primo, and other quality grills and accessories new in box being sold. It could be an opportunity to buy reduced priced grills ahead of the season.

Zillow did an analysis and outdoor lifestyle home renovations add a premium to a home’s sale price more than other selling features. An outdoor kitchen and a pizza oven were both on the top ten list of features that add a price premium.

Finally, Breeo continues to build-out the ecosystem for their smokeless fire pits. They added an expandable firewood rack to their line of accessories. It looks like a quality product that keeps your wood organized and shielded from the elements.
